In 2021 the negative effects of the health crisis of COVID -19 and the measures to prevent its spread continue to negatively affect both the national and the local economy of Piraeus. The 3rd wave of the pandemic, the lockdown, the suspension of businesses in vital sectors of the economy (Tourism, Catering, Retail, Entertainment, etc.), the reduction of consumer demand and the increase of unemployment increase the climate of insecurity and pessimism of Greek companies.

This conjuncture survey focuses on the analysis and comparison (following the previous survey) of companies’ estimates and expectations regarding their business activity, both in the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2021.
